Context
Design and develop an editorial concept for a free street press publication targeted at a specific audience or interest group. This project challenges you to create a cohesive, engaging, and professional-quality publication that effectively communicates with its intended readership. You will be responsible for every aspect of the publication, from concept development and content creation to layout design and pre-press preparation.
My concept of the magazine
This free tattoo press will be distributed in Brunswick, Fitzroy, and the CBD. Unlike traditional tattoo magazines, which can feel bold or intimidating, this publication takes a friendlier, modern approach. It’s designed for anyone interested in tattoos—whether they have tattoos, are considering one, or need guidance in choosing an artist. By making tattoo culture more accessible and inspiring, this magazine encourages readers to explore, connect, and take the next step in getting inked.
Target
Age Group: 18–35 years old
Interests: People interested in tattoos, whether they already have tattoos or are considering getting one. Those searching for their favorite design or unsure which shop or artist to choose. Individuals working in the tattoo industry.
I provided detailed and coherent responses to briefs, paying close attention to visual design and technical execution. We presented a clear brand identity, supported by a concise colour palette, consistent typography, and the thoughtful integration of graphic elements.
